Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican American broadcaster. She works for ESPN as an SportsCenter anchor for news. She began working for ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. The child of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual since the time she turned nine. This ability which helped her obtain her first position as an Univision production assistant in Miami. She was a producer for national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. When she was in St. Petersburg, she was later recruited as a reporter by the CBS station to work as an sports reporter. In 2009, she moved away from Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting for KNVO TV 48 Univision. In 2009, she moved into Rio Grande Valley, Texas and became an editor for KNVO48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. The station also frequently asked her to be an anchor for weather and sports. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. In that station, she was given greater accountability. She created pieces for Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS as well as the World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. The family moved from Mexico to Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. In 1992, the couple divorced and shortly afterward in 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer in the naval sector who passed away in the year 2006 from kidney cancer. While on a vacation, Antonietta stayed at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered a new job. Antonietta who was in high school with an idea of what she wanted her future to be, visited Mount Union University in order to find out what she could get out of the college. As it turned out she loved the campus and that they had the kind of program she was searching for. Following her graduation from high school, she made the decision to attend the University and major in Media Studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was part of her class, formed an ongoing relationship with the student. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her by his passion for journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
